Vivaldi Complete Concertos & Sonatas Op.1-12 (Płyta CD)
Książki & Multimedia > Muzyka
Opis - Federico Guglielmo and his ensemble L"Arte dell"Arco have already made a number of acclaimed recordings of Vivaldi"s music for Brilliant Classics. This boxset brings together CDs previously published along with never-before-heard recordings, spanning Vivaldi"s Concertos and Sonatas Opp. 1"12 plus a bonus CD of Cello Sonatas. The comprehensive collection showcases the perennial music of "Il prete rosso", with Italian musicians playing on authentic instruments, giving the closest version possible to the sounds that would have resonated in Venice 300 years ago. Guglielmo shines at the helm of his closely- knit ensemble; from the Trio Sonatas Op.1, which showed Vivaldi"s prowess at writing within an already well-established genre, through to his Violin Sonatas Op.2, with their elaborate asides for the ensemble as well as the solo instrument. "L"estro armonico" ("Harmonic inspiration"), a collection of 12 concertos, brought VivaldiEuropean-wide fame for the first time, which he soon built on through his next publication "Il cimento dell"armonia e dell"inventione" ("The contest between harmony and invention"). Arguably the composer"s most famous collection, "Il cimento" includes the delightful Four Seasons, as well as more concertos with evocative titles, such as ?La caccia" ("The hunt?) and ?La tempesta di mare" ("The sea storm?). The ensemble varies depending on the piece, with some concertos styled with a small group of soloists accompanied by a ripieno, and others allowing one soloist to take a prominent role. This release is proud to feature some of Guglielmo?s long-time collaborators, including Mario Folena on the flute, Pier Luigi Fabretti on the oboe and Francesco Galligioni on the cello, all experienced performers with a sound that blends perfectly with L"Arte dell"Arco. The ensemble itself also differs from piece to piece, with Guglielmo carefully selecting the number of performers and instrumentation for each individual work, thereby creating the most authentic performance possible. Guglielmo and his players bring a fresh interpretation to these beloved concertos as well as providing the listener with an opportunity to delve into Vivaldi?s lesser-known earlier works. With just one player per part, L"Arte dell"Arco strip back the layers, bringing a revitalising transparency to Vivaldi"s complex writing. The release includes world premieres of performances based on new critical editions of Vivaldi"s music authorised by the Istituto Italiano Antonio Vivaldi, based at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini in Venice. For the first time Vivaldi"s complete Op. 1-12 in one set! Already during his lifetime Vivaldi was a popular and successful composer, and, possessing a keen commercial talent, he published his own works. The works published during his lifetime are contained in his Opus 1-12, featuring such popular cycles as the Four Seasons, L"Estro Armonico, La Stravaganza, the flute concertos, and several sets of trio sonatas. These are by far to most popular works by the Venetian priest, and today they sound as fresh and sensational as when they were composed. Newly recorded and based on the new Critical Edition by Alessandro Borin, Istituto Italiano Antonio Vivaldi, Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Venice. Performed by the Italian Early Music group L"Arte dell"Arco, led by violinist (and soloist) Federico Guglielmo. French magazine Diapason wrote about them: "they understand the secret language of Vivaldi"rich and generous instrumental textures envelop the expressive lines of the solo violin"". All the previous separate issues have met with great critical acclaim, resulting in many 5 star reviews in the international press. Included as a bonus CD, the new recording of the Cello Sonatas. Although without opus number they were certainly published during Vivaldi?s lifetime. Contains a biography of the performers. Recorded in Italy in 2010 - 2014. Contains excellent liner notes by Vivaldi specialists. 6 Concertos La Cetra Brilliant Classics

Marcello?s Oboe Concerto is one of the best-loved and most performed works in the instrument?s repertoire. Originally written in C minor, it is heard here in its D minor transcription by J.S. Bach, who clearly appreciated the work?s special qualities. With its astonishingly sophisticated use of melody and harmony for its time, its lyrical and graceful outer movements and the exquisitely beautiful central Adagio that has made it so famous, this work is widely regarded as Marcello?s finest masterpiece (if, indeed, it was composed by Marcello: in his fascinating liner notes, musical director Giorgio Sassi suggests that the piece could have been composed by Albinoni or even Bach himself). This release also features Marcello?s six concertos published under the title ?La Cetra?. The concertos could be regarded as a last outpost of the late-Baroque style, with features that anticipate the development of Classicism, and they showcase a remarkably wide range of expression, atmosphere and timbre, which is done full justice in these consummate performances by acclaimed early music specialists Insieme Strumentale di Roma. The ensemble boasts an extensive and enthusiastically received discography, and has been praised for its ?stylish and sweetly modulated performances? and ?warmth, spirit and sensitivity? (Gramophone).Other information:- Recorded in 2013 in Rome.- This release contains one of the most famous Adagios of the entire repertoire: the adagio from the D minor Oboe Concerto by Benedetto Marcello!- Marcello?s style is High Baroque, already foreshadowing the Classical Style, music of great depth and emotion, richly scored for a wide variety of solo instruments and continuo.- Beautifully played with warmth and dedication by the Early Music specialist group Insieme Strumentale di Roma, conducted by Giorgio Sasso, an eminent scholar and musician, writer of the extensive liner notes.- The same group already issued an interesting and acclaimed recording for Brilliant Classics: Bach Concerto Reconstructions (BC 94340).- Booklet includes liner notes and artist biographies.

Vivaldi: 12 Concertos Op. 7 Brilliant Classics
Nagrania muzyczneMuzyka poważna
After the enormous success of Vivaldi?s earlier collections La Stravaganza and L?Estro Armonico, his publisher Estienne Roger was eager to capitalise on the composer?s soaring popularity. With that in mind, Op.7 was published in 1720 containing 12 new concertos, ten for solo violin and two for solo oboe. However, it seems unlikely Vivaldi either authorised or approved of this publication, and recent research has even discovered that the authenticity of the concertos is doubtful, with at least the two oboe concertos certainly not by Vivaldi. The concertos may not bear the traditional Vivaldian hallmarks, with movements simplified or moved around, but they are still a worthy tribute to the composer, whether penned by the ?Prete Rosso? himself or not.Federico Guglielmo leads his experienced and lively ensemble L?Arte dell?Arco from the front. A highly acclaimed soloist, Guglielmo has been an active performer on the early music circle for many years, having played alongside such groups as the Academy of Ancient Music and the Handel & Haydn Society of Boston. This time he is joined by oboist Pier Luigi Fabretti, who has previously performed with Concerto Köln and I Barocchisti, among others. This new instalment of the complete recording of Vivaldi?s Op. 112 contains the 12 Violin Concertos Op. 7, published in Amsterdam in 1720. Prompted by the popular success of the previously published La Stravaganza and L?Estro Armonico Vivaldi wrote these concertos in the same vein: brilliant, dramatic, full of the vitality of Mediterranean life and colours.Played by the Italian Early Music group ?L?Arte dell?Arco, led by violinist (and soloist) Federico Guglielmo. French magazine Diapason wrote about them: ?they understand the secret language of Vivaldi?rich and generous instrumental textures envelop the expressive lines of the solo violin??World premiere recording authorised and based on the Critical Edition by Alessandro Borin, Istituto Italiano Antonio Vivaldi, Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Venice.Recorded in Italy in 2014Contains biographies and notes on the works
