Meridian is the Channel for the Bio-Wave in Human Body Frieling-Verlag Berlin

Książki / Literatura obcojęzyczna

The Meridian is the most important concept in Traditional Chinese Medicine. 5000 years ago, Chinese scientists discovered energy streams in the human body and ever since the phenomenon of the meridian, together with medicinal herbs and acupuncture, has been used to treat illness. As with the anatomical system for Western Medicine, the science of the meridian in the body can be regarded as the basis of Eastern Medicine. In this book, Professor Miao presents his knowledge and the results of more than 20 years of detailed research. Inspired by the Daoist concept of the unity of heaven and humanity, he establishes bio-physical and bio-mathematical models for the meridian. The meridian, the author claims, is the result of an interaction between the geo-physical field and the physiological activity of the human body. This interaction creates subsonic vibration which in turn leads to the formation of so called "bio-wave" streaming through the human body. The author also explores his new definition of "Qi" and "Xue" (blood) and explains the spreading of the bio-wave by means of audio frequencies. In addition, Professor Miao uses bio-wave theory as the context in which to present his results for the effects of Chinese Medicine on the basis of more than 10 selected herbs. The author uses cell and molecular biology to explain the medical effects of Qigong and acupuncture. The author uses the "Standing Wave" theory to explain the theoretical principle of acupuncture anaesthesia.

Wrorldwide pollution (and attendant disease) of all kinds is increasing at an explosive rate -- toxic building materials, artificial lighting, impure air and water, radiation, viruses, bacteria, allergens, mold, and even high levels of noise bombard our minds and bodies with sometimes unbearable levels of stress, resulting in hormone-related cancers, impotence, and neurological disorders. Pollution-induced thyroid disorders contribute to our nearly "epidemic" problem of obesity. Diminished mental and physical function associated with growing older has been attributed to hormone deficiencies. In fact, the real difference between younger and older persons is the amount of hormones they produce and the receptivity of their cells to hormone messengers. Chemical pollutants mimic or block hormones, preventing the body from producing necessary levels, and hormonal messages go dangerously awry.Dr. Paul Yanick introduces readers of all ages to how they can achieve maximum health and longevity by using nutrient-rich Quantum Foods that aid natural detoxification processes and support the body's own hormone production.Readers will learn how to: -- Detoxify the body with protective, energy-producing Quantum Foods.-- Lose weight and keep it off with the unique Quantum Nutrition "RM" plan that addresses the hormonal/pollutant connection.-- Enhance immunity against the onslaught of powerful new bacteria and viruses.-- Improve sexual performance by eliminating pollutants that block sex hormones.-- Age-proof both mind and body.Quantum Medicine will prove simply indispensable to anyone concerned about immune and hormonal health and longevity.

A brilliant and suspenseful follow-up to the Booker-nominated graphic novel Sabrina."Every single person has something unique to them which is impossible to re-create, without exception." -John Smith, acting coachFrom the acclaimed author of Sabrina, Nick Drnaso's Acting Class creates a tapestry of disconnect, distrust, and manipulation. Ten strangers are brought together under the tutelage of John Smith, a mysterious and morally questionable leader. The group of social misfits and restless searchers have one thing in common: they are out of step with their surroundings and desperate for change.A husband and wife, four years into their marriage and simmering in boredom. A single mother, her young son showing disturbing signs of mental instability. A peculiar woman with few if any friends and only her menial job keeping her grounded. A figure model, comfortable in his body and ready for a creative challenge. A worried grandmother and her adult granddaughter; a hulking laborer and gym nut; a physical therapist; an ex-con.With thrumming unease, the class sinks deeper into their lessons as the process demands increasing devotion. When the line between real life and imagination begins to blur, the group's deepest fears and desires are laid bare. Exploring the tension between who we are and how we present, Drnaso cracks open his characters' masks and takes us through an unsettling American journey.

Statistical mechanics! The bane of many a physics student, and traditionally viewed as a long parade of ensembles, partition functions, and partial derivatives. But statistical mechanics needn't be arcane. When pared back to its underlying concepts and built from the ground up, it takes on a charm of its own, and sheds light on all manner of physical phenomena. This book presents a straightforward introduction to the key concepts in statistical mechanics, following the popular style of the author's highly successful textbook "Explorations in Mathematical Physics". Offering a clear, conceptual approach to the subject matter, the book presents a treatment that is mathematically complete, while remaining very accessible to undergraduates. It commences by asking: why does an ink drop spread out in a bathtub of water? This showcases the importance of counting configurations, which leads naturally to ideas of microstates, energy, entropy, thermodynamics, and physical chemistry. With this foundation, the Boltzmann distribution writes itself in its fullest form, and this opens the door to the Maxwell distribution, and related areas of thermal conductivity and viscosity. Quantum ideas then appear: bosons via Einstein's and Debye's theories of heat capacity, and fermions via electrical conduction and low-temperature heat capacity of metals. The text ends with a detailed derivation of blackbody radiation, and uses this to discuss the greenhouse effect, lasers, and cosmology.Suitable for use with core undergraduate courses in statistical mechanics and thermodynamics, this book concentrates on using solid mathematics, while avoiding cumbersome notation. All the necessary mathematical steps are included in the body of the text and in the worked examples.Reviews of Explorations in Mathematical Physics: The Concepts Behind an Elegant Language , Don Koks, 2006"With enjoyable and sometimes surprising excursions along the way, the journey provides a fresh look at many familiar topics, as it takes us from basic linear mathematics to general relativity... look forward to having your geometric intuition nourished and expanded by the author's intelligent commentaries." (Eugen Merzbacher, University of North Carolina)"... an interesting supplement to standard texts for teaching mathematical methods in physics, as it will add alternative views that could serve as additional material." (S. Marcelja, Australian Journal of Physics ) "... a tour through the main ideas forming the language of modern mathematical physics ...it is a difficult task for the author to decide what is a good balance between the topics and their presentation, but in this case it has been achieved. ...for those physicists who would like to be exposed to clear motivation and careful explanation of the basics of the present-day apparatus of mathematical physics." (Ivailo Mladenov, Mathematical Reviews ).

The evidence for the existence of the Mind as something distinct from the Brain. Betty Shine's new book centres on the Mind/Brain phenomenon and an argument that has dogged the scientific community for years. With a quarter of a century of experience of mediumship behind her, Betty Shine has the proof required to demonstrate the existence of Mind Energy as something which survived the physical death of the Brain. Drawing on survival evidence through many interesting and intriguing stories, this book is the first attempt by anyone to distinguish between Mind and Brain. Betty Shine can not only see it - she can prove it. From out-of-body and near-death experience to clairvoyant contact and meditation, THE INFINITE MIND will inspire both individuals and the world of science to re-examine their beliefs.
