Vivaldi Complete Concertos & Sonatas Op.1-12 (Płyta CD)

Książki & Multimedia > Muzyka

Opis - Federico Guglielmo and his ensemble L"Arte dell"Arco have already made a number of acclaimed recordings of Vivaldi"s music for Brilliant Classics. This boxset brings together CDs previously published along with never-before-heard recordings, spanning Vivaldi"s Concertos and Sonatas Opp. 1"12 plus a bonus CD of Cello Sonatas. The comprehensive collection showcases the perennial music of "Il prete rosso", with Italian musicians playing on authentic instruments, giving the closest version possible to the sounds that would have resonated in Venice 300 years ago. Guglielmo shines at the helm of his closely- knit ensemble; from the Trio Sonatas Op.1, which showed Vivaldi"s prowess at writing within an already well-established genre, through to his Violin Sonatas Op.2, with their elaborate asides for the ensemble as well as the solo instrument. "L"estro armonico" ("Harmonic inspiration"), a collection of 12 concertos, brought VivaldiEuropean-wide fame for the first time, which he soon built on through his next publication "Il cimento dell"armonia e dell"inventione" ("The contest between harmony and invention"). Arguably the composer"s most famous collection, "Il cimento" includes the delightful Four Seasons, as well as more concertos with evocative titles, such as ?La caccia" ("The hunt?) and ?La tempesta di mare" ("The sea storm?). The ensemble varies depending on the piece, with some concertos styled with a small group of soloists accompanied by a ripieno, and others allowing one soloist to take a prominent role. This release is proud to feature some of Guglielmo?s long-time collaborators, including Mario Folena on the flute, Pier Luigi Fabretti on the oboe and Francesco Galligioni on the cello, all experienced performers with a sound that blends perfectly with L"Arte dell"Arco. The ensemble itself also differs from piece to piece, with Guglielmo carefully selecting the number of performers and instrumentation for each individual work, thereby creating the most authentic performance possible. Guglielmo and his players bring a fresh interpretation to these beloved concertos as well as providing the listener with an opportunity to delve into Vivaldi?s lesser-known earlier works. With just one player per part, L"Arte dell"Arco strip back the layers, bringing a revitalising transparency to Vivaldi"s complex writing. The release includes world premieres of performances based on new critical editions of Vivaldi"s music authorised by the Istituto Italiano Antonio Vivaldi, based at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini in Venice. For the first time Vivaldi"s complete Op. 1-12 in one set! Already during his lifetime Vivaldi was a popular and successful composer, and, possessing a keen commercial talent, he published his own works. The works published during his lifetime are contained in his Opus 1-12, featuring such popular cycles as the Four Seasons, L"Estro Armonico, La Stravaganza, the flute concertos, and several sets of trio sonatas. These are by far to most popular works by the Venetian priest, and today they sound as fresh and sensational as when they were composed. Newly recorded and based on the new Critical Edition by Alessandro Borin, Istituto Italiano Antonio Vivaldi, Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Venice. Performed by the Italian Early Music group L"Arte dell"Arco, led by violinist (and soloist) Federico Guglielmo. French magazine Diapason wrote about them: "they understand the secret language of Vivaldi"rich and generous instrumental textures envelop the expressive lines of the solo violin"". All the previous separate issues have met with great critical acclaim, resulting in many 5 star reviews in the international press. Included as a bonus CD, the new recording of the Cello Sonatas. Although without opus number they were certainly published during Vivaldi?s lifetime. Contains a biography of the performers. Recorded in Italy in 2010 - 2014. Contains excellent liner notes by Vivaldi specialists. Vivaldi: Violin Sonatas Op. 2 Brilliant Classics

Nagrania muzyczneMuzyka poważna

Following the critical success of their set devoted to Vivaldi?s Op.6 set of concertos, not to mention earlier albums devoted to more arcane areas of the Red Priest?s output such as concertos for organ (BC94059), mandolin and lute (BC93810) and even an opera (Ottone in Villa, BC94105), L?Arte dell?Arco and Federico Guglielmo now explore the accompanied sonatas which the composer wrote on the occasion of the visit of the King of Denmark to La Serenissma late in 1708.Thus this set is, despite its misleading early opus number, very much the work of the mature Vivaldi, now 40 years of age and a leading light of the vibrant Venetian musical scene, producing at an astonishing rate not only concertos for the adroit pupils of the Ospedale della Pieta where he was a much-loved music master, but also entertainments of varying scale for more public events and audiences. These sonatas are but for two or three performers, or even four: a moot point for musicologists. L?Arte dell?Arco follow modern scholarly practice in assigning the ?accompaniment? to the virtuoso solo instrument to a continuo group of cello, keyboard and plucked instruments, though they take care to offer instrumental colours as variegated as possible by alternating between harpsichord and chamber organ, and theorbo and Baroque guitar, as the character of the musintal craftsmanship, continually appears to demand or request it. The sonatas were written with publication in mind, not in Venice but Amsterdam, then the home of instrumental music publishing, and they take their place within his carefully constructed 12 opus collections as a sophisticated set of sonatas displaying all the different characters of the Italian Baroque school of instrumental craftsmanship, continually enlivened by Vivaldi?s unique brand of melodic genius.Other information:- The complete set of 12 Violin Sonatas Op. 2 by Antonio Vivaldi.- Vivaldi published this Opus in 1709 in Venice, and in 1712 again in Amsterdam with Roger, who was to become his main publisher.- Vivaldi was a notable violin virtuoso himself, no wonder these sonatas demand a high technical level of the performer. Italian violinist Federico Guglielmo counts as one of the greatest Baroque violinists of today. Not only he effortlessly conquers all technical difficulties, but he fully understands the musical language of this music, the rhetoric, the articulations and the affects, in short he not only plays the right notes, but he lets the violin speak, as a medium for all human emotions.- This set is part of the Vivaldi Series of L?Arte dell?Arco and Federico Guglielmo, presenting new recordings of the complete Op. 1 till Op. 10 by the Venetian Master.- Booklet includes excellent notes on the music by Federico Guglielmo.- ?Truly excellent? One of those rare CDs where everything is in the right place? Vivaldi: L'Estro Armonico, 12 Concertos Op. 3 Brilliant Classics

Nagrania muzyczneMuzyka poważna

Antonio Vivaldi was one of the most successful composers of the Baroque era, best known for his iconic set concertos for violin, The Four Seasons. L?Estro Armonico Op.3 is among the most important printed editions of Vivaldi?s concertos; the works immediately met with great acclaim after their publication in 1711, giving way to over 30 reprints in the subsequent 32 years. Indeed, this was the first collection of concerti to be published with a title, showing that the composer himself was aware of the nature of this extraordinary event. The work was originally dedicated to Prince Ferdinando de? Medici, son and heir of Cosimo III, Grand Duke of Tuscany. This special release is the world premiere recording based on the edition by Michael Talbot, of the Istituto Italiano Antonio Vivaldi, Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Venice and has been produced in collaboration with Ricordi and Universal Music Publishing. L?Arte dell?Arco is an internationally renowned ensemble that has achieved great acclaim through performances and recordings. Each member is handpicked from the elite of the Italian classical music scene and has performed with many period orchestras across Europe. The group regularly takes part in early music festivals and has, in recent years, toured extensively outside of Europe in the Far East and South America. Artistic Director and Concert Master Federico Guglielmo has been hailed by the Boston Globe as ?the new star of the ancient music landscape? and was the winner of the Antonio Vivaldi International Recording Prize, also receiving a Diapason d?Or for his recording of Vivaldi concertos. After the iconic ?Le Quattro Stagioni?, the collection of 12 violin concertos Op. 3, ?L?Estro Armonico? is the most popular and well known of all of Vivaldi?s works. It is vintage Vivaldi: lively, exuberant and brilliant allegros, spun-out cantilenas in Italian ?belcanto? style, and a general feel of Italian passion and good humour. Violinist Federico Guglielmo is one of Italy?s foremost fiddlers, a pioneer of Early Music Performance Practice, a bon vivant understanding the secrets of Vivaldi?s language like few others. Played from the New Vivaldi Edition as published by the Istituto Italiano Antonio Vivaldi and the Fondazione Giorgio Cini. A superb addition to the Vivaldi series (the complete Opus 1-12) by L?Arte dell?Arco, and Federico Guglielmo! Contains liner notes on the composer and works and performer biographies.

Vivaldi: 12 Concertos Op. 7 Brilliant Classics

Nagrania muzyczneMuzyka poważna

After the enormous success of Vivaldi?s earlier collections La Stravaganza and L?Estro Armonico, his publisher Estienne Roger was eager to capitalise on the composer?s soaring popularity. With that in mind, Op.7 was published in 1720 containing 12 new concertos, ten for solo violin and two for solo oboe. However, it seems unlikely Vivaldi either authorised or approved of this publication, and recent research has even discovered that the authenticity of the concertos is doubtful, with at least the two oboe concertos certainly not by Vivaldi. The concertos may not bear the traditional Vivaldian hallmarks, with movements simplified or moved around, but they are still a worthy tribute to the composer, whether penned by the ?Prete Rosso? himself or not.Federico Guglielmo leads his experienced and lively ensemble L?Arte dell?Arco from the front. A highly acclaimed soloist, Guglielmo has been an active performer on the early music circle for many years, having played alongside such groups as the Academy of Ancient Music and the Handel & Haydn Society of Boston. This time he is joined by oboist Pier Luigi Fabretti, who has previously performed with Concerto Köln and I Barocchisti, among others. This new instalment of the complete recording of Vivaldi?s Op. 112 contains the 12 Violin Concertos Op. 7, published in Amsterdam in 1720. Prompted by the popular success of the previously published La Stravaganza and L?Estro Armonico Vivaldi wrote these concertos in the same vein: brilliant, dramatic, full of the vitality of Mediterranean life and colours.Played by the Italian Early Music group ?L?Arte dell?Arco, led by violinist (and soloist) Federico Guglielmo.
