Collective Bargaining Wages in Comparative Perspective Kluwer Law International

Remarkably, the core element of labour relations wage determination has been excluded from the European social dialogue about harmonisation of working conditions and national systems of social security. The present study responds by analysing the prospects of building up structures of wage formation in Europe through a reevaluation of collective bargaining and collective agreements as they exist under the law of the most industrialized Member States. The impetus for the study is the widely debated crisis of the system of concluding regional collective agreements on wages. Social partners seem to have been trapped in fruitless conflicts on how the system must be reformed. It has become obvious that no party concerned employers, trade unions, the state has the capacity to resolve the growing difficulties of collective wage formation. In an introductory essay by the distinguished editors, this important study takes the situation in Germany, the most prominent manifestation of this European crisis, as its starting point. Then, academic experts from France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Sweden describe comparable problems in their own countries, detail approaches to dealing with them, and provide a critical commentary, including judgements and suggestions in relation to the German case. Then follows a reexamination of the situation in Germany in the light of the experience of the other countries. A final chapter outlines some preliminary interpretations of European prospects. Salient issues investigated include the following: the erosion of such ideological and legal categories and concepts as `dependent work , `solidarity , `subsidiarity and `social self-regulation as preconditions of traditional collective bargaining structures at national level; the decreasing membership of the bargaining partners on both sides; the shrinking rate of employees covered by collective agreements; attempts to establish a national social pact; increasing competition on global markets; decentralizing management strategies, including the abandonment of collective bargaining; and, individualized employees. The authors examine the various state structures to determine if the legal and institutional developments of the different national systems of collective bargaining constitute starting points for mutual learning in order to meet the new challenges. This leads to a discussion of which practices are successful in their original environment, and how these practices might adapt to other systems in other countries. This ground-breaking study not only offers deep insights into how modern economies can adapt to the demands of globalisation, but also demonstrates the possibility of developing wage formation systems in different national traditions by making use of specific national resources. It will be of immeasurable value to professionals, academics, and officials in the relevant areas of government, legal practice, jurisprudence, and labour relations.

Nie było obchodów 5-lecia, 15-lecia, ani nawet ćwierćwiecza. Ale im więcej świeczek na torcie, tym jubileusz bardziej szacowny i mocniej domaga się celebracji, więc zespół postanowił uczcić swe tym razem 35-lecie na Polach Marsowych w Chorzowie. I to uczcić z przytupem. W każdym sensie - długości, repertuaru, osób na scenie i przed sceną. Oraz oczywiście rejestracji na DVD. Długość koncertu znowu - patrz 30-lecie - ociera się o księgę rekordów Guinnessa. Dżem niczym przodownicy pracy kapitalistycznej! Ale jubilaci nie grają tu sami. Nawet podczas sesji "Akustycznie" przed dwiema dekadami nie zaprosili do współpracy aż tylu muzyków. W tym zagranicznych. Chrisa Duarte rekomenduje współpraca z Claptonem i BB Kingiem, Coco Montoyę współpraca z Mayallem (jako następne wielkie odkrycie po Claptonie i Stonesie Taylorze), a także admiracja... Ryszarda Riedla, bo był jednym z gitarowych faworytów wokalisty. Oprócz gitarzystów mamy skrzypka Jana Gałacha, z którym współpraca Dżemu jest świeżej daty, oraz tych, którzy współpracowali z zespołem w różnych latach - Andrzeja Marko z big bandem, aranżera i dyrygenta operowo-symfonicznego, oraz Partyzanta. A jego fanom zespołu przedstawiać wręcz nie wypada, bo wystarczą hasła "akordeon" i "Autsajder". Ale przecież "Autsajder" ma dwa oblicza. To z radia, teledysku i setek koncertów, oraz drugie, żartobliwe i ludyczne, dotąd znane tylko z płyty "Akustycznie - suplement". Właśnie ono wykonane w Chorzowie z Partyzantem tudzież orkiestrą górniczą - dla podkreślenia, z jakiej to ziemi Dżem się wywodzi - może uchodzić za symbol wyjątkowości programu koncertu urodzinowego. A program stoi na dwóch płytach. Na "Muzie" - bo to przecież ostatni album z premierowym materiałem, a taki zawsze ma u Dżemu specjalne prawa, i na "Autsajderze" - bo spośród albumów z Riedlem jest najmniej ograny. To dlatego z obu płyt muzycy sięgają głównie po mniej wizytówkowe utwory, jak "Bujam się" czy "To wszystko co mam" oraz "Noc i rytm" czy "Płyń mój bluesie, płyń". W ogóle koncert 35-lecia jest nafaszerowany rarytasami. Najprawdziwszy rarytas to "Uwierz Mirando" - porzucony utwór z czasów pierwszego wokalisty. Zwraca uwagę obecność dotąd mającego słabe odbicie w fonografii, a teraz niekrótkiego rozdziału pod tytułem "Maciek śpiewa Jacka". Jego jedna trzecia pt. "Zapal świeczkę" stwarza ze "Skazanym na bluesa" możliwość nostalgicznego przypomnienia osób przez trzydzieści pięć lat związanych z Dżemem, które odeszły - oprócz Riedla i Bergera ("Skazany") także wielu innych ("Zapal"). No i oczywiście mamy evergreeny w postaci "Whisky", "Cegły", "Wehikułu", "Snu o Victorii" i "Do kołyski". Musimy mieć, bo one nigdy się nie nudzą. Co zespół jeszcze wymyśli na 40-lecie?! The biological treatment methods like sludge treatment gives the farmers the source of biofertilizers and organic manure for the plants. In the present scenario, energy crisis is also one of the issues that we are facing particularly in context with the thermal power plants which are environmentally highly polluting. Through various techniques like microbial fuel cells or biohydrogen, we get a source of cleaner energy. So, through this book, we try to produce the content and information to give the audience an understanding of the waste water as one of the environmental and health issues and mitigation strategies. The book gives a sufficient understanding of how waste can be turned into a resource.
