Grace for All Resource Publications (CA)
Książki / Literatura obcojęzyczna
Did Christ atone for the sins of humanity on the cross? Does God desire all people to be saved and direct his grace toward all people for that purpose? There are some Christians following a deterministic paradigm who believe this is not true. They believe God has predestined some people for heaven and many, or even most, for hell. The rising tide of Calvinism and its ""TULIP"" theology needs to be respectfully answered. Grace for All: The Arminian Dynamics of Salvation features a distinguished international panel of scholars to examine this controversy. These writers address issues such as election, free will, grace, and assurance. They make compelling scriptural arguments for the universality of God's grace, contending that Christ atoned for the sins of all people and that God sincerely offers forgiveness for all through Christ. This book strives to uncover the biblical position on salvation. We hope the reader will enjoy this stimulating series of articles on the Arminian perspective and that it will spur further writing and discussion. Grace for All: The Arminian Dynamics of Salvation is an updated and revised version of Grace Unlimited, a 1975 collection of scholarly articles assembled by the late Clark H. Pinnock of McMaster Divinity College. ""I cannot think of a more dangerous unbiblical teaching than Calvinism! I recommend this book highly. . . . I am so very glad Grace for All is back [as a new version of Grace Unlimited] and available to a new generation! It is a monumental work and has never been answered. The reader should buy one for himself/herself and buy one for each Presbyterian/Reformed minister in town and give it to him/her as a gift! To God be the Glory!"" --Terry L. Miethe, PhD, former Dean of the Oxford Study Centre, Oxford, England John D. Wagner is a Biblical Studies student at Trinity Theological Seminary. He holds a master's degree in Journalism from the University of Arizona and has extensive experience in writing and editing. Wagner is the editor of three theological works: Redemption Redeemed: A Puritan Defense of Unlimited Atonement by John Goodwin, Freedom of the Will: A Wesleyan Response to Jonathan Edwards by Daniel Whedon, and Arminius Speaks by James Arminius. Clark Pinnock (1937-2010), PhD, University of Manchester, was Professor Emeritus of Systematic Theology at McMaster Divinity College in Vancouver, Canada. His many books include The Scripture Principle, Reason Enough: A Case for the Christian Faith, and Three Keys to Spiritual Renewal.

Book of Revelation AuthorHouse
Książki / Literatura obcojęzyczna
The Bible is a book written by God and the formation of His family. Our believing, knowing, and understanding are the revelation of Christ already in us, which must be squeezed and shaped into His image so that when others see us, they see their Father. God is looking for his sons to do this. The Book of Revelation reveals Christ in us, which must be manifested as the body with Jesus as the head in order for the return of the Lord to be revealed. This book is the instruction of the spiritual process that must take place individually and then corporately in each child of God to walk in the authority and power as a son. What he created in spirit must come forth in the flesh with his image and likeness. We must know in our heart that we are an offspring, a portion of the original. Jesus has been blowing the sound of our jubilee since he rose from the grave. He is waiting for us to hear this sound and enter into his rest. We have the ability today to know the power of his resurrection while in our natural body. The Book of Revelation tells us how. God is looking for His sons He created in the beginning to take dominion and authority. The Book of Revelation reveals Christ in us who must be manifested as His body with Jesus as the head. When Jesus said, "It is finished," was he just making a way for personal salvation with God, or was there a bigger picture? John 14:12 says, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." For over 2000 years the body of Christ has been liken to kings and lords hiding in a cave waiting for a someday when they get to heaven to receive their inheritance as a son of God. When Jesus died he gave us the ram's horn, the shofar, to declare that our JUBILEE is here NOW for us to receive. The Book of Revelation teaches us how to hear the sound of this horn, the voice of the Father, which brings hope and challenge for us to open the doors to our true identity as a "son" of God. It will set us free from the captivity and bondages in our lives as we find out that as He is, so are we today in this world with His power and His authority.

Dostoevsky Pickwick Publications
Książki / Literatura obcojęzyczna
As a writer and prophet Dostoevsky was no academic theologian, yet his writings are deeply theological: his life, beliefs, even his epilepsy, all had a role in generating his theology and eschatology. Dostoevsky's novels are riven with paradoxes, are deeply dialectical, and represent a criticism of religion, offered in the service of the gospel. In this task he presented a profound understanding and portrait of humanity. Dostoevsky's novels chart the movement of the human into death: either the movement through paradox and Christlikeness into Christ's cross (a soteriology often characterized by the apophatic negation and self-denial; what we may term ""the Mark of Abel"") leading to salvation and resurrection; or, conversely, the movement of those who refuse Christ's invitation to be redeemed, and continue to fall into a self-willed death and a self-generated hell (the Mark of ""Cain""). This eschatology becomes a theological axiom which he unceasingly warned people of in his mature works. Startlingly original, stripped of all religious pretence (some prostitutes and criminals might just have a better understanding of salvation than some of the pietistic, wealthy, and cultured classes), Dostoevsky as a prophet forewarned of the politicized humanistic delusions of the twentieth century: a prophet crying out through the wilderness. ""This is not just another scholarly exegesis of Dostoevsky's theology. Paul Brazier's impeccable research clearly puts it in this category. His sharp, analytical mind takes in Dostoevsky's fiction, letters, diary, even his personal annotations in his copy of the New Testament to explicate Dostoevsky's 'theological anthropology,' a theology based on the relationship of God to humanity. The portrait of Dostoevsky that emerges from Brazier's work, through selected anecdotes and dialogues of characters, is as well developed and vivid as Dostoevsky's own Ivan Karamasov or Raskolnikov. It is a joy to read."" --Salwa Khoddam, Professor of English, Emerita, Oklahoma City University ""Dostoevsky's later fiction stares unblinkingly at the true depravity of human life, but nonetheless imagines a response shaped by compassion and love. In this, he is a remarkably Christian, and relentlessly theological, author. Paul Brazier does a fine job of sifting and collecting the theological themes in Dostoevsky's work, and showing us the extent of his understanding of the gospel."" --Stephen R. Holmes, Head of School of Divinity, University of St. Andrews ""An unusually lucid survey of Dostoevsky's major fiction, written from a robustly theological perspective, this will be a most useful contribution to the study of one of Europe's greatest Christian imaginations. There are arguments here that will undoubtedly provoke debate, but the discussion is careful and well documented, and makes a real contribution to the study of the subject."" --Rowan Williams, University of Cambridge; author of Dostoevsky: Language, Faith and Fiction An independent theologian and scholar living in London, P. H. Brazier holds degrees in fine art (BA), education (MPhil), and systematic theology (MA and PhD). He has published widely in theology and philosophy, including a five-volume systematic analysis of C. S. Lewis's theology.
