"Fuller understands what readers look for in her novels, and she more than meets all expectations." -RT Book Reviews of Faithful to Laura Can Anna Mae heed God's call on her life, even if it means leaving behind everything she knows ...and everyone she loves? Ever since Anna Mae's childhood friend Jeremiah left their Amish community, she's questioned her own place in the Amish world. The Amish life feels as if it's closing in on her, and with her mother trying to set her up with potential suitors, Anna Mae feels trapped in a life she's not sure she wants anymore. But she's never told anyone that she longs for a tiny taste of freedom-freedom that could be very costly. When Jeremiah suddenly reappears in Middlefield to help his mentor, Yankee veterinarian Dr. Miller, new questions surface for Anna Mae, along with feelings she'd never fully acknowledged before. As Anna Mae and Jeremiah rekindle their friendship, old feelings take on new meaning. Yet the question still lingers: What is God's plan for her life? Should she stay, keeping loyal to her Amish family, or does God have a bigger plan-one that provides more freedom than she could imagine? The answers do not come easily, and the answer to God's call may lie in different directions ...for both of them. Includes Reading Group Guide

Sometimes, there's a thin line between love and hate. Or at least that's one theory for DI Zoe Dolan, tracking the Creeper - a stalker who's been breaking into women's homes and attacking them. Opis - Introduction (...) the future development of international civil aviation can greatly help to create and preserve friendship and understanding among the nations and peoples of the world, yet its abuse can become a threat to the general security; and (...) it is desirable to avoid friction and to promote that cooperation between nations and peoples upon which the peace of the world depends;1 Air passenger rights have become one of the most important consumer rights areas since the number of people who are travelling is growing every year.2 "Over the last thirty years, there has been a boom in mobility in Europe. For millions of citizens travel has become a reality, indeed a right (...) The air transport sector has seen a number of changes: the emergence of low cost airlines, the restructuring of other airlines, the opening up of new routes, and the availability of information or tickets on the Internet with a general reduction in fares. Millions of people have flown as a result of the setting up of an internal aviation market".3 According to Vice-President of the Commission Siim Kallas, responsible for transport "passengers need a common set of principles, so that they can be more easily aware of their rights if something goes wrong with their trip, regardless of the mode of transport they use or whether a journey takes place wholly within a single Member State or goes through an intra-Community or external frontier"4. Europe's success in securing and upholding passenger rights is one of the resounding achievements of the EU transport policy. Therefore, it was 1 Preamble to Convention on International Civil Aviation, signed at Chicago, on 7 December 1944 (Chicago Convention). 2 ECC-Net Air Passenger Rights Report 2011 - in the aftermath of the 'Volcanic Ash Crisis', October 2011 (available at http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/ecc/docs/ecc_net_air_passenger_ report_2011.pdf). 3 Communication From The Commission To The European Parliament And The Council Strengthening passenger rights within the European Union, Brussels, 16.2.2005 COM(2005) 46 final. 4 http://ec.europa.eu/transport/passenger-rights/en/index.html 8 Introduction necessary for the European Community to strengthen the rights of passengers and to ensure that air carriers operate under harmonized conditions in a liberalized market. Liberalisation, however, is not enough. Other measures are needed to protect passengers' interests and ensure that they fully profit from the single market.5 Air passenger rights can cover the following fields: People with disabilities and people with reduced mobility; Denied boarding; Cancellation; Long delays; Problems with Baggage; Identity of the airline; Package holidays; Price transparency. All these fields are covered by special regulations. Notwithstanding the most controversial and with unclear provisions is Regulation (EC) 261/20046. Therefore, there is a need to analyse the existing judgments and different theories in legal doctrine regarding this Regulation. It introduced important new rights for air passengers in the event of denied boarding, long delay, cancellations and downgrading. The Regulation took effect on 18 February 2005 and sets a minimum level of quality standards in order to protect passengers. It repealed Regulation (EEC) No. 295/91 and it sets out the entitlements of air passengers when a flight that they intend to travel on is delayed or cancelled, or when they are denied boarding to such a flight due to overbooking, or when the airline is unable to accommodate them in the class they had booked. It is very important to ensure a high level of protection for passengers. Moreover, full account should be taken of the requirements of consumer protection in general. As it is stated in Preamble to Regulation 261/2004, denied boarding and cancellation or long delay of flights cause serious trouble and inconvenience to passengers and the number of passengers denied boarding against their will remains too high, as does that affected by cancellations without prior warning and that affected by long delays. Therefore, it was necessary for the European Community to strengthen the rights of passengers and to ensure that air carriers operate under harmonized conditions in a liberalized market. It is also stated that the number of passengers denied boarding against their will should be reduced by requiring air carriers to call for volunteers to surrender their reservations, in exchange for benefits, instead of denying passengers boarding, and by fully compensating those finally denied boarding and that passengers denied boarding against their will should be able either to cancel their flights, with reimbursement of their tickets, or to continue 5 European Commission, Air - legislation in force since 2005 at: http://ec.europa.eu/transport/ themes/passengers/air/index_en.htm 6 Official Journal of the European Union, L 46, pp. 1-7 (17-2-2004). Introduction 9 them under satisfactory conditions, and should be adequately cared for while awaiting a later flight.7 As IATA indicates, airlines are committed to looking after their passengers, and overlapping passenger rights regimes around the world creates difficulties for the industry and confusion for passengers. The patchwork of regimes defeats the purpose of providing passengers with clear, transparent rights that they can count on. Clear information to passengers on their rights should be the first priority of government and the industry.8 In response to this, the industry unanimously adopted a set of principles at the 2013 IATA Annual General Meeting. The principles call on governments to develop consumer protection regulations that:

When Momma Can't Kiss It Better, a Journey of Love, Loss and Acceptance First Edition Design eBook Publishing

WHEN MAMA CAN'T KISS IT BETTER is the raw account of a true story that shocked the nation in 2010. Gertz was America's most hated mother when news of a decision to place her adopted child in another family broke in the media. Called out by many as an unfit mother and an evil woman who threw away her child, she was catapulted into the national and international media. WHEN MAMA CAN'T KISS IT BETTER covers: * The adoption of their daughter Emily, early signs of trouble, their birthmother's suicide, the truth about her pregnancy and warnings about how to avoid what happened to the author and her family * Raw and honest details about her daughter's rages, suicide attempts, and hospitalizations * The turmoil that living with mental illness causes for everyone in the home and how it affects siblings and marriages * The difficulty in receiving support from physicians, educators, & clinicians * The author's increasing desperation to find answers and help as rages and impulsivity became safety issues * Being judged by doctors, schools, and outsiders as "the problem" while her daughter collected diagnosis after diagnosis * The painful decision to place her daughter in another family and how she came to accept that she had to do the unthinkable * Parents worldwide waging verbal attacks on her since if the fault belonged to Gertz alone, it couldn't happen to anyone else Note from the Author: I spent the better part of six years writing this book, which began as the only way I could cope with what was happening in our lives. I just couldn't believe the lack of resources there were when I reached out for them so vociferously and started documenting what was happening inside our family if not only to maintain my sanity. I am passionate about telling my story to help increase understanding of the enormous challenges parents of special needs children face in a culture that believes that motherly love and perseverance can cure all ills. For those on similar paths, the story of my journey to a sense of peace within the context of facing unrealized dreams, human limitations, broken hearts, and the unfair circumstances of life may help them find that same place of peace in the tough decisions within their own lives. I pray this book will bring attention to the need to better support parents and kids with mental illness and other invisible disabilities and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to call attention to such pressing societal issues. 'Only with the greatest of simplifications, for the sake of convenience, can we say Africa. In reality, except as a geographical term, Africa doesn't exist'. Ryszard Kapuscinski has been writing about the people of Africa throughout his career. In a study that avoids the official routes, palaces and big politics, he sets out to create an account of post-colonial Africa seen at once as a whole and as a location that wholly defies generalised explanations. It is both a sustained meditation on the mosaic of peoples and practises we call 'Africa', and an impassioned attempt to come to terms with humanity itself as it struggles to escape from foreign domination, from the intoxications of freedom, from war and from politics as theft. The Beginning: Collision, Ghana 1958 More than anything, one is struck by the light. Light everywhere. Brightness everywhere. Everywhere, the sun. Just yesterday, an autumnal London was drenched in rain. The airplane drenched in rain. A cold, wind, darkness. But here, from the morning

In Nature Takes a Stand, the Kikatu, at least their nomadic component, is on the verge of extinction because of their lifestyle. Their once evergreen environment has turned into a lifeless desert. The Cobbler, on the lowest rung of the social ladder and in fact a slave for all intents and purposes, rises to the occasion. Leading a "Save the Environment" movement, he begins with the call to protect the lowly herb and then makes a frontal attack on the logging industry, gaining powerful enemies. Among them is Kurtin, part of the most prominent family in the community and a logging merchant intent on keeping the old order in place. Odds are that tradition will win, defeating the forces of change. But then Mother Nature takes a stand. As a result of a cruel drought that almost decimates their herds, the Kikatu can either stay put and starve, or move in search of water and fodder, but perhaps still die for trying. Broadcaster and journalist Ali Abdulkadir worked extensively in the Middle East and in his native country Somalia, before serving the United Nations as a communications officer. In the early 1980s, he witnessed the birth of new nations from the desert sand. He also saw his own country's environment wither. The U.N. taught him that if only people would appreciate that they rise or fall together, peace would reign and hunger would be a thing of the past. He is married and has three children.
