What is physics? The answer to this question has been changing, because physics also changes with time. But physics has always dealt with the basic rules governing the world: the macro-world as well as the world of atoms, electrons and nucleons. Physicists are concerned with various kinds of matter and radiation and their interactions. Their main purpose is to find, understand and use the basic laws that govern the natural world. The foundation of physics is experiment. Experimental observation of the phenomena of nature allows physicists to find the rules and principles that relate these phenomena. This leads to formulation of models and theories, which form our perceptions of the investigated phenomena. Any physical model or theory must always be confronted with experiment. Essential contradictions between a particular model or theory and experimental data are a signal that the model or theory should be corrected or replaced by a new one. This confrontation is a source of development of physics and its continuous approaching a truth of nature. Contemporary physics is a highly developed basic science with many fields, which are the foundation of all engineering and technology. Especially strong relations exist between physics and chemistry. Ever since chemistry ceased to be a purely phenomenological science, chemists not only employ certain laws of physics, but even include some complex and subtle physical phenomena and physics' arcane methods of measurement in their own research. While the term has come to mean the extermination of a people, Lemkin used it to describe all programs that sought to increase the "Aryan" birthrate while working to exterminate the social, cultural and economic independence of non-Germanic peoples. This study was an elaboration of ideas he first proposed in 1933 in his address to the Fifth International Conference for the Unification of Penal Law (1933), which argued that attacks on racial, religious and ethnic groups should be considered international crimes. Important for the prosecution of the Nazis, this pioneering work helped to establish the framework for all subsequent efforts to punish crimes against humanity. "In 1933 a government arose in Germany whose policy was directed not towards the murder of individuals only but of a whole civilization. Providing the user with varied and multi-layered research opportunities, these important and extremely rare documents from the National Socialist era represent a significant gain for historical research. In total, the index of persons lists the names of almost 18,700 men and women who were persecuted or under observation by both Gestapo and SD. In addition, it also features the names of politicians and civil servants who were the targets of operations by the opposition. Comprising 9,100 entries, the geographical index lists places, countries and major administrative districts. For places with more than 500,000 inhabitants it offers numerous subject key words such as arrests, churches, publishing houses etc. Lastly, the index of organizations covers some 11,570 civil and military authorities and offices, courts of law, church and cultural institutions, political parties, societies, organizations within the resistance movement and business enterprises ranging from the Aachener Kleinbahn to the Polish resistance organization Zwiazku Walki o Wyzwolenie. A total of 576 newspapers and periodicals published both within the Reich and outside the country by ĂŠmigrĂŠs are listed separately.In addition, the work also features a scholarly introduction by the editor, detailing origin, revision, topics and the actual handing down of the reports.
