Fundamentals of Computer-Aided Circuit Simulation Springer, Berlin
Książki / Literatura obcojęzyczna
From little more than a circuit-theoretical concept in 1965, computer-aided circuit simulation developed into an essential and routinely used design tool in less than ten years. In 1965 it was costly and time consuming to analyze circuits consisting of a half-dozen transistors. By 1975 circuits composed of hundreds of transistors were analyzed routinely. Today, simulation capabilities easily extend to thousands of transistors. Circuit designers use simulation as routinely as they used to use a slide rule and almost as easily as they now use hand-held calculators. However, just as with the slide rule or hand-held calculator, some designers are found to use circuit simulation more effectively than others. They ask better questions, do fewer analyses, and get better answers. In general, they are more effective in using circuit simulation as a design tool. Why? Certainly, design experience, skill, intuition, and even luck contribute to a designer's effectiveness. At the same time those who design and develop circuit simulation programs would like to believe that their programs are so easy and straightforward to use, so well debugged and so efficient that even their own grandmother could design effectively using their program.

Quantum Mechanics Using Computer Algebra: Includes Sample Programs In C++, Symbolicc++, Maxima, Maple, And Mathematica (2nd Edition) World Scientific Publishing Co Pte Ltd
Książki / Literatura obcojęzyczna
Solving problems in quantum mechanics is an essential skill and research activity for physicists, mathematicians, engineers and others. Nowadays, the labor of scientific computation has been greatly eased by the advent of computer algebra packages, which do not merely perform number crunching, but also enable users to manipulate algebraic expressions and equations symbolically. For example, the manipulations of noncommutative operators, differentiation and integration can now be carried out algebraically by the computer algebra package. This book collects standard and advanced methods in quantum mechanics and implements them using Symbolic C++ and Maxima, two popular computer algebra packages. Throughout, the sample programs and their outputs are accompanied with explanatory text of the underlying mathematics and physics explained in detail. Selected problems have also been implemented using two other popular packages - Mathematica and Maple - while some problems are implemented in C++. Modern developments in quantum theory are covered extensively, beyond the standard quantum mechanical techniques. The new research topics added to this second edition are: entanglement, teleportation, Berry phase, Morse oscillator, Magnus expansion, wavelets, Pauli and Clifford groups, coupled Bose-Fermi systems, super-Lie algebras, etc.

Advanced Home Automation Using Raspberry Pi APress
Książki / Literatura obcojęzyczna
Build a versatile home automation system from scratch. There are many ways of controlling home appliances with your smartphones, voice, gestures, etc. This book dives into the many options for for communicating with appliances wirelessly and we'll discuss and implement the leading protocols in the field. In first few chapters, you will develop a basic understanding of the Raspberry Pi and how one can control it wirelessly from anywhere in the world. Then you'll get to know about the local server for your home automation projects and control the Raspberry Pi GPIOs using smartphone and web apps. Every appliance will be able to talk to each other, as well, with the help of mesh networking, which you'll learn to implement. The user interface is also an important aspect of handling all the appliances, so you'll create your own user dashboard using OpenHAB. From there, you can monitor all the appliances and sensor data in one environment. Next, implement your own custom voice assistant to control your appliances and perform basic tasks like playing music, checking weather, etc. You'll also integrate a smart door bell into your system using image processing so that you can restrict an unknown person's entry. Finally, we'll combine all the knowledge that we have learned to make a fully versatile home automation project controlled using voice, gestures, and image processing. Throughout this whole project, Raspberry Pi will be your master server or node and other devices will be connected wirelessly using wi-fi/Bluetooth modules. Create a smart home with fully custom interfaces to do exactly what you need! What You'll LearnCreate a user interface using openHABImplement the MQTT protocolInstall Alexa and Google Home API to control appliances wirelesslyWho This Book Is ForEnthusiasts with a working knowledge of the Raspberry Pi, electronic engineering, and Python programming. This book will also interest hobbyists and students from Computer Science or related disciplines.

Digital Design and Computer Architecture (Ksi Elsevier Books
Książki / Literatura obcojęzyczna
"Digital Design and Computer Architecture" takes a unique and modern approach to digital design. Beginning with digital logic gates and progressing to the design of combinational and sequential circuits, Harris and Harris use these fundamental building blocks as the basis for what follows: the design of an actual MIPS processor. SystemVerilog and VHDL are integrated throughout the text in examples illustrating the methods and techniques for CAD-based circuit design. By the end of this book, readers will be able to build their own microprocessor and will have a top-to-bottom understanding of how it works. Harris and Harris have combined an engaging and humorous writing style with an updated and hands-on approach to digital design. This second edition has been updated with new content on I/O systems in the context of general purpose processors found in a PC as well as microcontrollers found almost everywhere. The new edition provides practical examples of how to interface with peripherals using RS232, SPI, motor control, interrupts, wireless, and analog-to-digital conversion. High-level descriptions of I/O interfaces found in PCs include USB, SDRAM, WiFi, PCI Express, and others. In addition to expanded and updated material throughout, SystemVerilog is now featured in the programming and code examples (replacing Verilog), alongside VHDL. This new edition also provides additional exercises and a new appendix on C programming to strengthen the connection between programming and processor architecture. It covers the fundamentals of digital logic design and reinforces logic concepts through the design of a MIPS microprocessor. It features side-by-side examples of the two most prominent Hardware Description Languages (HDLs)-SystemVerilog and VHDL - which illustrate and compare the ways each can be used in the design of digital systems. It includes examples throughout the text that enhance the reader's understanding and retention of key concepts and techniques. Companion Web site includes links to CAD tools for FPGA design from Altera and Mentor Graphics, lecture slides, laboratory projects, and solutions to exercises. Updated based on instructor feedback with more exercises and new examples of parallel and advanced architectures, practical I/O applications, embedded systems, and heterogeneous computing. It presents digital system design examples in both VHDL and SystemVerilog (updated for the second edition from Verilog), shown side-by-side to compare and contrast their strengths. It includes a new chapter on C programming to provide necessary prerequisites and strengthen the connection between programming and processor architecture. Instructors can also register at textbooks.elsevier.com for access to: solutions to all exercises (PDF); lab materials with solutions; HDL for textbook examples and exercise solutions; Lecture slides (PPT); Sample exams\ Sample course syllabus; and figures from the text (JPG, PPT).

Basic Category Theory for Computer Scientists MIT Press Ltd
Książki / Literatura obcojęzyczna
Category theory is a branch of pure mathematics that is becoming an increasingly important tool in theoretical computer science, especially in programming language semantics, domain theory, and concurrency, where it is already a standard language of discourse. Assuming a minimum of mathematical preparation, Basic Category Theory for Computer Scientists provides a straightforward presentation of the basic constructions and terminology of category theory, including limits, functors, natural transformations, adjoints, and cartesian closed categories. Four case studies illustrate applications of category theory to programming language design, semantics, and the solution of recursive domain equations. A brief literature survey offers suggestions for further study in more advanced texts. Benjamin C. Pierce received his doctoral degree from Carnegie Mellon University.Contents : Tutorial.
