So Literacy and Language ensures that, as the new National Curriculum advises, children learn, through being shown, the skills and processes essential for writing. Grammar concepts are taught in context and through writing so they are meaningful for children. The Software also contains a Grammar Bank - a reference tool for teachers to help them teach grammar with confidence. It covers all the grammar concepts in the National Curriculum from Years 2-6 and includes 'Test yourself' sections, with answers, to help teachers check their understanding.There are also practice tests to prepare children for the Year 6 English Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling Test. A 'Big Question' links the fiction and non-fiction elements, encouraging children to reason, debate and think critically about the texts they read and develop their spoken language skills. About Hume: David Hume (1711-1776) is one of the greatest of philosophers. Today he probably ranks highest of all British philosophers in terms of influence and philosophical standing. He discusses moral psychology; freedom, necessity, and causation; practical reasoning; justice; virtues and other moral qualities.
