Santa Claus Clause The Christmas Story is a new twist on a Christmas traditon of celebrating Christmas with Santa Claus giving out Christmas presents to all the children of the world OF ALL AGES as is his love for the people and Christmas! However, Santa Claus comes to believe that given modern times he is no longer needed to carry out the traditions in the same way as usual. So, he emails everyone their Christmas presents and takes off for a long needed vacation of his own. And, he tells his staff at the Northpole and his family to take a vacation as well. All are delighted. That is until children and their parents believe that Christmas is no longer on as usual! They think Santa Claus doesn't want there to be Christmas anymore. They demand a press conference for him to explain his disappearance from the Christmas Holiday! Santa Claus rushes back to the Northpole to the delight of everyone assuring everyone that Christmas is most definitely still on as far as he is concerned. He just thought everyone was going modern these days. And, he thought that he and his staff and family should instead go on a vacation if not needed. He assures everyone that he did email everyone their Christmas presents thinking that would be equally as pleasing as the tradition of his presents under the Christmas tree. Resultively, he saves Christmas as well as his job. His son, Nick, is grateful since he gets the job of Santa Claus after his father retires. The original Santa Claus has a SECRET that he must honor of never letting anyone know that he is the original Santa Claus. Thus, the title of the book Santa Claus Claus. The subtitle of the book is meant to express that this is about a real person, Santa Claus and THE real story about Santa and his life: the "scoop" about what Santa Claus is like. In the book, Santa's son has a baby boy born, little Nicholas, that is celebrated with the world as the Santa Claus who will someday take over the job of Santa to save Christmas worldwide for another generation. Only Stanley, a little boy who lives across the street knows the truth about the real Santa Claus since he saw with his own eyes Santa's sleigh on the roof of his house. However, he is never to tell his mother this since his mother wants him to NEVER say that this is the REAL Santa...even though Stanley knows beyond a doubt. Santa is regarded where he lives as a regular person who just loves Christmas. He and his wife have retired now and own a Christmas tree farm where they sell Christmas trees during the Holiday Season. And, he gets to once a year at Christmas re-enact Christmas by giving out Christmas presents at his farm for people to enjoy his farm and the Christmas tradtion. The book is a charming book for the young audience and their family to enjoy during Christmas now and many years to come...to be a family favorite for all childrens' bookshelf. This is a REVISED EDITION of the book. There are many NEW art work pieces in the interior of the book all hand rendered by the author who has an art degree. And, the cover is all new art hand rendered by the author as well. The author, Nancy Dick, has an art degree from Thomas Edison State College in Trenton, NJ. She has a writing degree from Ball State University in Muncie, IN. She also has a Bachelors and a Masters degree in sociology from Ball State University in Muncie, IN. This book has all the "bells and whistles" on it and is a wonderful childrens' book written from a childs' view of life to be a best seller for children and all people who love books and have children in their family for great presents for under the Christmas tree! A new twist on a classic story about Santa Claus and Christmas for children of ALL AGES to enjoy!

Story of Santa Claus Osprey Publishing

Książki / Literatura obcojęzyczna

Every December 24th millions of children eagerly await a visit from a large, bearded man in a red suit. But where did Santa come from and how did he evolve into today's Jolly Old Saint Nick? Well before Washington Irving's legendary poem 'Twas the Night Before Christmas' shaped the modern vision of Santa Claus riding a flying sleigh pulled by magical reindeer, his story actually began about seventeen hundred years ago in the Eastern Roman Empire. There, a young orphan named Nicholas became famous for using his inheritance to give gifts to the needy. In his most wildly-known story, he threw bags of gold over a wall into the house of a destitute merchant, so that the man would not be forced to sell his daughters into slavery. Eventually, this young and holy man became the Bishop of Myra and lived a life of faith and miracles, fighting injustice and protecting the weak. Even after his death, his miracles continued, and he is credited with saving sailors, healing the sick, and even raising the dead. In time, he became known as St. Nicholas the Wonder Worker. In the numerous centuries since the passing of Saint Nicholas, his story has grown, developed, and been combined with numerous other legends. In the Netherlands, he became known as Sinterklaas, the old man who brought presents to children with the help of his assistant Zwarte Piet. In England, he became Father Christmas, the living embodiment of the holiday. Fully illustrated with original color drawings, " Santa Claus" celebrates the story of his beginnings as a holy man in Ancient Rome, through his development in the Middle-Ages, to his current, likeness on advertisements, greeting cards, apparel and decorations - right down to real-life mall-based family photo opp. It is a winding, magical tale filled with mystery and good will towards all men, sure to fill even the most jaded scrooges with a little bit of Christmas magic. A portion of all of the profits from this book will be donated to help disadvantaged children throughout the world.

Doctor Who: the Time Lord Letters BBC Books

No one could travel through history - past present and future - as much as the Doctor does without leaving an impression. Much of what we know about this mysterious figure comes from what he does - the planets he saves and the monsters he defeats. But until now we've had little knowledge of his writings. The Time Lord Letters is a unique collection of over one hundred letters, notes, and jottings both by and to the Doctor - correspondence by turns entertaining and inspiring, funny and flippant, brilliant and incredible. From the Doctor's plea to the Time Lords to help end the War Games to an extract from the written defence he submitted at his subsequent trial; from his application for the post of Caretaker at Coal Hill School to his apology to the Queen for missing dinner; from telepathic messages to the High Council on Gallifrey to his famous letter to Santa Claus - like the Doctor himself, the mood can change in an instant. The Time Lord Letters captures the best and most dramatic moments of an impossible life. You'll never see the Doctor in quite the same way again.

Tidge Mackiewicz, has proof the German Luftwaffe shot down Santa Claus on Christmas Eve in 1944. Tidge wears a treasured scuffed and stained Army Air Corps flight jacket that still carried the lingering redolence of old tobacco and stale booze and has proof the jacket belonged to Santa Claus. Tidge Mackiewicz, a modern day family patriarch, has proof the Luftwaffe shot down Santa Claus on Christmas Eve in 1944 and he survived. Tidge wears a treasured scuffed and stained Army Air Corps flight jacket that still carried the lingering redolence of old tobacco and stale booze and has proof the jacket belonged to Santa Claus. Although tarnished by an incident at age six when he called a department store Santa a "fat bastard," his belief rules every stage of his life. On his death bed, Tidge's father, Kid Scream, gave feeble orders to his son to carry out a trinity of commands. The first, "Get your head out of your ass and toss Brew's goddamn jacket and ragged ass Santa suit into the trash," preceded a second order, "Stop acting like every day is Christmas." He tried to hammer home his belief in his family to his son, a last dying breath exhaling his command. "This screwed up family is yours now. Unscrew them. Tidge believes he finally has his special gift to carry out his father's orders. Nothing can deter him. Not Willy's mother, a sophisticated alcoholic and former professional wrestler who demonstrated her once famous "See 'em" hold on Tidge's youngest brother. Watching Willy consume too much Swedish glogg doesn't stop him. An annual Christmas season phone call from his boyhood friend, Humper provides the last piece of evidence to Santa's World War II heroics and the rationale for The Jacket bringing Tidge and his daughter, Martha together and the unscrewing of the screwed up Mackiewicz family. The Jacket is a 2013 grand prize winner of the "Books Without Publishers" writing contest. Richard Baran holds a doctorate and two masters' degrees besides his bachelor's in business. A Navy veteran, he taught and coached for forty years at the secondary school and collegiate levels. His publishing credits include, "Coaching Football's Polypotent Offense", a coaching text, a short story, "That Ain't No Walleye" and several dozen articles in professional business, education and coaching journals. He and his wife have eighteen grandchildren and they divide their year between Franklin Park, Illinois, Phoenix, Arizona and Minocqua, Wisconsin.
