Utwory skomponowane przez Spohra to muzyka najwyższej klasy, zarówno na poziomie intelektualnym jak i emocjonalnym (w przeciwieństwie do niektórych innych zwolenników szkoły mannheimskiej). Jego koncerty na skrzypce i klarnet są po dziś dzień w stałym repertuarze wielu orkiestr, a jego dorobek całkiem zasłużenie cieszy się rosnącą popularnością.? Pieśni zawarte na tej płycie zachwycają urzekającą linią wokalną, z typowym dla Schuberta naturalnym wyczuciem melodii i równie pięknym akompaniamentem na gitarze.? Światowa premiera.? Wkładka z informacjami i śpiewanymi tekstami w języku niemieckim.Pomimo pokaźnej liczby pieśni pisanych na fortepian i śpiew w XIX wieku, gitarę także czasem wykorzystywano jako akompaniament ? był to pierwszy instrument Berlioza, a i Schubert skomponował pewną liczbę pieśni na gitarę i wokal, jako że uważał się w pierwszej kolejności za gitarzystę, a dopiero w drugiej za pianistę. Dlatego właśnie, mimo tego, że trzy zestawy pieśni niemieckich zawarte na tej płycie CD zostały skomponowane w latach 1816?1826 na fortepian i śpiew, a ich wersje gitarowe pojawiły się niedługo po pierwotnych, możemy mieć pewność, że Spohr byłby zadowolony z tych aranżacji.Zawarte na tej płycie CD pieśni Mozarta także zostały pierwotnie skomponowane na fortepian, z wyjątkiem K351 i K349, które powstały z myślą o akompaniamencie mandoliny. Trzy z tych pieśni zostały zaaranżowane na gitarę przez Wenzela Matiegkę (1773?1830), czeskiego kompozytora tworzącego w Wiedniu.Mozart był idolem Spohra, tak więc zebranie wzajemnie się uzupełniających pieśni obu tych kompozytorów w jeden niepowtarzalny program, wydaje się jak najbardziej właściwe.

Opis - The embodiment of grace and refinement, the Huit Ariettes for soprano from Rossini"s Soirées musicales are late pieces written after his enormous success in Paris with Guillaume Tell, and are the fruit of delightful musical evenings " or soirées "" held by the composer in his Parisian house during the 1820s. Contained within these beautiful melodies are deeper meanings and inspirations: each aria is like a personal meditation stimulated by states of mind, memories and emotions; reflections full of brilliant touches and effects. Based on texts by Pietro Metastasio and Count Carlo Pepoli, a variety of topics are covered " including a gondola ride and an orgy " often characterised by the irony and sarcasm befitting a composer retired from the highs and lows of the operatic stage. This is salon music at its most sophisticated. The Douze Ariettes italiennes are the perfect companion pieces to Rossini"s Soirées musicales. With many also based on texts by Metastasio, these pieces are arrangements of the most famous themes from Rossini"s operas, made by the Neapolitan composer and virtuoso guitarist Ferdinando Carulli.
